Pucker up!

Almost looks like a kiddie album, but no, it's a real-deal brass band, with the trombones and the tubas and the hey hey it hurts me.

Simple back cover, but I dig it.

Ooo, lookit Side One, Track One! (if you like that kind of thing) I need to listen to this sometime. ;) And now I look at the back cover and think 'hmm, kinda Terry Gilliam-esque!'

By the way, this post put me over the 50,000 pageviews mark! Big thanks to Retrospace for that. ;)

  1. I have a weird feeling I'd be disappointed in this. Given the 1977 copyright, I'd expect it to be all discofied and funky, like the Wing And A Prayer Fife & Drum Corps. No?

    1. You may be right... I'll put it on today and post my findings here.

    2. I've listened to it now and am pleased to report that there is no disco on it. :) Quite a nice rendition of The Liberty Bell, too, especially with the addition of the whistlers.

  3. Awww...Kaiser Bill's Batman would've sounded awesome with a nice strong 16-beat behind it! But I take comfort in knowing all the songs are made of good solid Canadian MAPL.

Incidentally, I spotted a couple of Mireille Matthieu albums on my thrift run the other day. In better shape I'd have nabbed 'em. Hope I'm not missing out on too much.
