Specific Sesame Street

Thought this was an interesting find...

Roosevelt had his own album! To be honest, I don't remember him much. He was likely gone entirely by the time I started watching. Apparently this is a 1974 re-release of the 1971 album "The Year of Roosevelt Franklin." Wonder why they changed the name.

Joe Raposo. Man, could that guy write memorable music...

  1. Yop...that trumps my Sesame Street album for today: Bert & Ernie Sing-Along. You win this one, my Canadian friend. But this battle is far from over. ;^}

    1. Haha, that was an unexpected post. I didn't even know there was a battle! ;) I've posted a fair number of Sesame Street albums already and I still have a bunch more. They made a ton of them!

      I didn't realize you had a link to my blog on yours. Thanks! I'll add a link to yours here now...

  2. Happy Christmas, war is over? Truth is, I like to think all us vinyl bloggers are in this together...even through the occasional bouts of one-upmanship. Continue to wow and be wowed. (And thanks for that link.)

    Incidentally, here's a little about Roosevelt Franklin. Seems the kids liked him, but the grown-ups didn't appreciate his racial stereotypes: http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Roosevelt_Franklin

  3. Amazing/weird how a character that was dropped in 1975 still showed up in books as late as 1996!
