Slightly outdated

I don't think this would fly nowadays...

When I first saw it, I thought 'ah yes, the old boiling cauldron,' but no, it's a beautiful drum! Then I thought 'those poor guys, probably Americans dressed up for the cover,' but maybe not...

Not only was this recorded at the Johannesburg Music Festival, but check out the ear on the guy at the far right. That looks quite legit to me, many, many years before hipsters and other weirdos started ruining their lobes for that 'look at me!' look. These two pieces of evidence lead me to believe that these are real tribesmen. However, you'd still never see a cover like this anymore.

Let's look at some more normal images now.

I always like these ads and technical notes. Two more things that died off almost entirely once CDs and cassettes became the standard.

Kolorful Klaus

Love how vibrant Klaus Wunderlich's covers are, and here's one of them...

I feel like a few years ago (maybe even now?), people would've been all up on those glasses!

Is he your favorite too?

Perhaps my favorite cast member from Sesame Street, it's Bob McGrath!

Nice cover. I see the first song title and think of Coca-Cola. ;)

Some impressive musicians on this one, including legendary drummer Earl Palmer, guitarist Art[hur, I'm hoping] Smith, and the one that jumped out at me, guitarist Tommy Tedesco, who played on Fernwood 2 Night and America 2-Night! :D

Mind your Stacey Qs

What's better than one Stacey Q? Six of them! (spread over four albums)

Starting with the biggest, the one responsible for the huge hit "Two of Hearts", once considered by "Weird Al" Yankovic for parody, but declined by the songwriters. Therefore, she never truly made it. ;)

Cool shades, cool hair. What's not to like?

Yep, I have the Euro mix single of "Two of Hearts", in case you were wondering.

Here's her follow-up, which did well, but not nearly as well as Better Than Heaven.

Cross-arm block. A powerful defensive move in boxing. Her face is wide open, though!

And here's the hit single from Hard Machine. I dig the coat, pads and all.

Here are the two hit singles...

Such a sweet voice! :)

I probably heard this on the TV show Full House, but I don't remember it.
