Mexicali Brass Honey

I'm always hoping to find out the names of these models, just so I can say 'hey, it's [so-and-so] from that album cover' if I see her on TV or in a movie (or even another album cover) sometime, but it just never happens. There are some I have where I think 'I know I've seen her somewhere...', but no dice on the jogging my memory part.

The return of Al Clouston

I've posted about Mr. Clouston before, and here he is again...

Love it. :) Real clean, handmade quality to it, nice and bright.

I really need to listen to these someday. I certainly enjoy laughing to my heart's delight and I like a good storyteller. ;) Sadly—and kinda surprisingly, as I posted the other album 7 years ago now—other than a tribute video and short podcast, there's still nothing on YouTube to share. I've seen far more obscure things there, but no Uncle Al?!

Edsel! Nice! A name we can trust. ;)

The only Hooters you should care about

Forget your greasy wings and boobs nonsense, this is the real deal!

Suspenders in the front? Well, I guess I know where Kris Kross got their inspiration! :o

The two guys in the shadows kinda got a raw deal. Did the record label say 'stick the ugly ones in the back?' Heh.

Anyway, let's have a listen to the title track...

I was expecting new wave synth or something, but it's just good ol' pop. Very specific to the period. I likes it.

Here's another good'un, called "All You Zombies"...

I likes it! Sounds slightly familiar, too. I'm listening to more after this, too. Good band!

Anyway, more on Hooters, whom I reckon should be way better known!, here.

Mistor Pistor

The name Nestor Pistor seems almost but not really familiar. Anyway, this is his first album.

Hey, is that Andy Capp? :p

More on Nestor, who has performed as recently as a few months ago, here.
