Hey, it's just another Ray Conniff-like cheesecake-type cover, right?

Nope, it's "saved" vinyl, as some call it. Of course, seeing WORD on the front cover was a clue, but I didn't notice it when I first saw it amongst all the other records. I figure most of you looking at this post didn't notice at first either.

I wonder if it's really re'generation, or if it's supposed to be régeneration. (if that character isn't showing up for you, that's an accent aigu as the first e.) *searching* Ok, it's almost certainly Re'Generation, led by Derric Johnson.

So, it's actually a duo, at least on this album, with Jan Sanborn and her unusual ability at the piano. I take it they mean unusual as a good thing in this case. ;)

Ah, the days when most boys were young men and most girls were young women, not a bunch of apathetic, narcissistic, foul-mouthed sluts. I'd use a tamer word there, but why sugar-coat it? Sometimes these old records make me pine for a world I never knew. :(

I don't have said book. Kinda bizarre setup. You can see that there's a tear at the bottom of the slit where the book[let] would've been crammed in. :p (I'm still not sure if the booklet that would fit in there is the book[let] they mean or something separate)

Oh, and I have a friend named Peter Brown, but I'm pretty sure he didn't have a career in disco.

Shake a tail feather!

Fun cover from this interesting R&B/soul band. From their wiki page: "Geno Washington was a US airman stationed in East Anglia who became well known for his impromptu performances in London nightclubs. In 1965, guitarist Pete Gage needed a singer to front his new band and replace the previous singer Errol Dixon, and asked Washington to join. When Washington was discharged from the US Airforce, he became the band's frontman."

I figured that maybe it's a Bond three-wheeler they're driving in this pic from the back cover, but no. It's actually featured nearly in full on the cover of their next album...

The car is the Opus HRF (Hot Rod Ford). Good info here and here.

Anyway, though it's not from this album (their second), I'd like to add a song from their first; a fun, unique cover of "Que Sera, Sera":

You can tell they're serious because of the double exclamation mark!! 

As is often the case, I probably didn't include the back cover because it's just a small track listing followed by nothing but ads for the record label, thus not worth it.

The title is a reference to the legendary SCTV skit/group 5 Neat Guys.
