Because he's worth it!

There's ol' Don. Reminds me of guys that would come to school once in a while and give speeches, though not being in Catholic/religious schools, they weren't using the bible. I remember one talked about the dangers of electricity and playing around wires (said one guy had a bolt go through his elbow and it fused at a 45% angle, basically), and one guy who was very TV evangelist-like, talking about the dangers of drugs. Unfortunately, his manner was so over-the-top that everyone sort of just dismissed him right away. :-/

The title is a reference to the last line in that Warning! section: "This recording is worthy of the finest needle." I guess I need to buy a new one...

Here's Part One (the entire album, as well as his first one, is available):

Cheeky!

Not cheeky yet, but we'll get to that. Quite an attention getter. I like that they went black and white. Color might not have the same impact, as there are plenty of similar ones in color.

"Hey lady, your shirt's not long enough! Hey lady, your... Your shirt... Ah, she's not listening."

This was supposed to be the second climax this blog has experienced, but it turns out I haven't posted the other one [unrelated] yet. Oops!

No, not the hockey moron

The way they made the logo, I couldn't tell if it was Don Cherry Smashes or a group called Cherry Smashes, then I noticed the tiny Don up there or what. :p Anyway, turns out Don Cherry is a pop and country singer and avid golfer, not the aforementioned moron from Hockey Night in Canada.

Ooo, it's Dean and Frank endorsed! Maybe they met him on the links.

Legendary!

Well, I think so, anyway...

Well, I've seen this beauty on other vinyl blogs, so I guess it's legendary. Maybe it's the upside-down apostrophe that does it.

Mine is autographed by each member! That's pretty legendary. But really...

...Toto Zaratiegui's glamour shot is what makes it legendary. Considering they didn't have to use this pic, I'm sure, maybe he's just a fun loving guy! So am I, so I love that pic! :)

Harvest Time

I like that someone took the time to make each of those letters unique. Just a little thing, but it sets it apart from similar formats.

I haven't listened yet, but I'm intrigued by "Go Jonah". Fascinating book and man.

Boomboxes get no respect!

Honestly, I think the term ghetto blaster is much cooler, but probably/possibly considered un-p.c. nowadays. Yes/no?

Got this one on my last visit to a Goodwill that shut down in Ontario. Phew!

I like how the name Dangerfield appears nowhere. What is this, some Chris Gaines deal?

Harper Valley P.T.Eh.

Yep, it's another America-central release from Arc, a Canadian company. Actually, it's just a collection of hit songs from the period by various artists. Marlene features on four tracks.

Here's the song. She did a nice job. :)
